Get ready for an animated crossover as Rick and Morty meets the Looney Tunes in the new Space Jam movie, Space Jam: A New Legacy.
The scientist and his grandson make a surprise appearance in the sequel to the beloved 1996 basketball movie starring LeBron James.
King James, who also serves as producer, plays a fictionalized version of himself alongside a star-studded live-action and voice cast.
Space Jam Fans Ecstatic And Puzzled At Rick And Morty Cameo
Fans of the basketball animated saga were equally ecstatic and puzzled at spotting the two characters from the adult sci-fi Adult Swim show. Rick and Morty make a brief appearance alongside James, Taz, Bugs Bunny, and Daffy Duck.
“The Rick and Morty cameo in Space Jam: A New Legacy officially made this movie good, I was on the fence for a little,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Seeing Rick and Morty in #SpaceJamANewLegacy is pretty hilarious,” was another comment.
“ok did anyone predict rick and morty being in space jam 2 or,” a confused fan asked.
"Rick and Morty in the new Space Jam is the greatest crossover since ET in Phantom Menace,” one Twitter user joked.
Another user wasn’t happy to see Rick and Morty while so many Looney Tunes characters were left behind.
"f**king rick and morty make it into space jam 2 but not any of my favorite looney tunes side characters. really says a lot about our society,” they wrote.
Finally, someone else is already calling Oscar buzz on the basketball movie.
“I want you to realize that Space Jam: A New Legacy is both Big Chungus and Rick and Morty's theatrical debuts. if this movie doesn't get an Oscar its next bet is getting Reddit Gold,” they wrote.

In the new film directed by Malcolm D. Lee, LeBron James teams up with the Looney Tunes gang to save his son Dom (Cedric Joe), an aspiring video game developer trapped in a virtual space called the Serververse.
Alongside James and Joe, the cast of A New Legacy includes Don Cheadle and Sonequa Martin-Green in live-action roles — as well as Zendaya, Eric Bauza, and Jeff Bergman in voice roles. Michael Jordan, who starred in the first movie, appears in a cameo.
